Arnold Etchison was a very, very sick puppy, who felt that he needed to feed upon the souls, and blood, of his relatives. He killed 26 of his family members, including several that he killed after escaping Arkham Asylum during Knightfall. Abbatoir was chased into a refinery by AzBats during KnightQuest: The Crusade. He was hanging from a plank and Batman allowed him to fall, therefore becoming responsible for Abbatoir's death. This was one of the reasons Bruce had to take away the Mantle from Jean Paul.
