Welcome to The Dark Knight's Design a Scene! As a kid, you must have played with those wonderful games called "Colorforms"®. There was a plasticized scene, and there were dozens of plastic cut-outs that you could stick on the scene, and peel off again. They are an endless source of fun and creativity.
Design a Scene is a version of "Colorforms,"® and based upon a Batman theme. Right now there is only one background, but there will be more in the near future. There are thirteen Batman characters that you can stick on the scene. This is a concept that I came up with, and the program is one that I developed personally. Please give me some feedback about this new feature!
From the main screen, select the character that you want to place on the background by clicking on the option button next to the name (and above the picture) of the character. Then, click on the background image at the top, at the position where you want the character to be centred. When the screen finishes redrawing, your character will be placed where you clicked! Select another character, and keep going!
At this time, there are only two ways of removing characters:
A remove feature will be added in the future.
Your newly designed scene can be printed by clicking on the Print button on your browser. I have had satisfactory results using a 300 dpi laser printer, but I haven't had the chance to try an inkjet printer (colour or greyscale).
Note: These images can take a long time to load over a 14.4 kbps modem. While you have been reading this page, the character images have been loading. This should have taken approximately one minute. Each time you add a character to the scene, it will take approximately one minute to load the new image. Please be patient - it is worth it. You may experience different load times depending on your network speed or modem speed. This is running on a fast server over a T1 connection, so there should be no slowdowns here at the server. If you experience long load times of the characters each time you add to your scene, you may have your cache turned off. Please turn it on (in Netscape, Options, Network Preferences, Cache, set your Disk Cache to greater than 0).
