Gotham Gossip PICS Rating - In light of the changes in postings made on the Goss, I've added a separate PICS rating to that area, so that any families using a PICS-setup browser will be able to prevent their kids from entering the site. I've set the "vulgar" factor to 2, which is about middle of the road. (December 2/98)

Gotham Gossip Enchancement - I've set it up so that after posting a message on the Goss, your cursor is automagically in the message box, so that there's not need for a mouse or tab key to start your new message. (August 12/98)

Deep, Dark Thoughts - I've written a new column on my thoughts about the quality of the recent Batman issues. (July 23/98)

Nostalgia - I've added a front page to the Nostalgia section to give a little explanation of what that area contains. (June 9/98)

RSACi Rating? - I've replaced the RSACi rating on the Splash page. If you're using Microsoft's Internet Explorer, it will read this rating no matter where on the site you go. This means that parents can be assured that their children are visiting a site that is safe (in terms of content). (June 8/98)

What's Changed? - I've now set up the What's Changed? page so that if you don't have a handle for the Goss, you can still use this feature. (June 2/98)

December 1995 Nostalgia Page - I've put up the page that made up this site from back in December 1995. This was when the page was just that - one page (plus a couple of extras). (May 29/98)

Splash Page - I've lightened up the image of Gotham on the splash page, to make it easier to see on some video card/monitor combinations. (May 1/98)

What's Changed? - I've added a link to the "Welcome Back messages you'll find on the splash page. That link will take you to the What's Changed? page, to give you quick access to changes to the site. (May 1/98)

April Fool's Joke - For the second time, I've pulled a fooley. I changed the splash page to include a notice that the site was being shut down due to pressure from DC Comics. (April 1/98)

New Webserver - I've completed the transition from the Netscape Enterprise webserver to the Apache webserver. What does this mean to you? It means that the site will be faster in serving pages and images. It also gives me a little more control over how I want certain parts of the site to act. (March 26/98)

Bio Directory? - I've changed the Goss Bios Directory to not reload the main Goss page, or the directory, each time you pick a bio to look at. Much faster! (March 25/98)

No More Ads - The Health Canada Quit4Life campaign has finished, so, for now, there are no more ads anywhere in the Gotham Gossip area. Contrary to popular belief, the ads were not causing all the problems with the Goss - those were caused by another problem... (March 24/98)

What's Changed? - I've added a section to the site where you can see what pages have been updated since you last came to visit. It's still in development, but I'd like people to try it out and let me know what they think! (February 26/98)

Gotham Gossip - You now need a valid email address in order to set up a new bio/handle on the Goss. (February 21/98)

Cataclysm - I've added a section to the storylines area for the newest Batman crossover: Cataclysm. There's not much meat there yet - I'll be adding to it as the crossover continues. But a listing of the issues involved is there. (February 5/98)

People - I've added information to the sections on: Batman, Nightwing, Robin, Oracle, Huntress, Azrael, Catwoman, and MacKenzie Bock. (January 28/98)

The Spoiler - I've added a section to the heroes: Spoiler. Since she plays such a large role in Robin, I felt it was necessary to add her. (January 28/98)

Gotham Gossip - I've re-written a large part of the Gotham Gossip and its accompanying programs (Add/Edit/Delete Bio, etc) to be faster. Because of this, I hope to implement exit lines soon. (January 27/98)

Gotham Gossip - I've changed the format of the Gotham Gossip, to remove the participants list (to another window) and playing with the sizes of the frames. (January 25/98)

Gotham News - I am now archiving messages after one week, instead of two. This will reduce the file size, and therefore download time, of the index of messages. (July 11/97)

Password Checking - I am implementing JavaScript in some of the forms, particularly the Gotham Gossip, to reduce server load and to improve service. This should not cause a problem, as it is works with both Netscape and Internet Explorer. (July 9/97)

Knight Font - To improve the atmosphere of the site, I've changed all the titles to be in the Knight font. This font has been provided courtesy of Treehouse Graphic Design. There are now graphic titles for every page on the site.(June 30/97)

Mr. Freeze Bio - In the spirit of the new Batman & Robin movie, I've added a Mr. Freeze bio. And I'll work to beef up the other bios, while I'm at it. (June 9/97)

Comics Pages - I've split up the comics page into individual pages, one per title. This means faster download times, and it also means that I can expand on entries (content). (May 27/97)

Batman News - This will be an attempt to keep you up to date with what's happening in the Batman world. There is a form for sending me news items. As a consequence, to reduce confusion, the What's New? page (this one) has been renamed Site News. (March 31/97)

Ratings - You can now rate Batman & Robin Adventures. (March 26/97)

Gotham Gossip - You are now assigned a colour when you log into the Goss. All of your messages will appear in the colour, to make it easier to follow conversations. (March 18/97) (Note: this feature has been turned back on (April 10/97))

Gotham Gossip - You can now edit your Gotham Gossip bio without retyping it all in. (March 14/97)

Gotham Gossip - You can now change your Gotham Gossip password. (March 13/97)

Gotham Gossip - GG nows supports unique entrance lines. This means that you can have it say something cool when you log in, instead of just "You have entered the room". These are set up through the Add a Bio page. (March 13/97)

Cross References - I've added links to any subject that has a section elsewhere on the site (i.e. On the Comic Release Guide, if you look at the section for the current Nightwing issue, there is a link to the Nightwing section of the Comics page). Note: In any given section, I'll only link to the cross-references once (it gets tiring typing all those links in! :) This is an ongoing process that will soon be completed. (March 11/97)

People - I've added "First Appearances" to many of the people listed/linked here. I'll add more as time goes on. (March 11/97)

Search - The search engine has been replaced by an indexed search. This is much faster than the old search (it is nearly instantaneous). There are tips for searching included on the page. (March 6/97)

Design a Scene - The scenes that you create are now returned to you as a JPEG graphic, and not a GIF. This has cut the file size to one-third of what it was. (March 4/97)

People - I've updated the people section, making it more up-to-date. Cross-references to storylines are now linked. (March 4/97)

New Server - I've moved the whole site from the old HookUp webserver to the MT&T server. Some time will be needed to work out some of the bumps in the road. (March 2/97)

Counter Gone - I've removed the counter att the bottom of each page (except for the Gotham News), to speed up the loading of the pages. I run stats on the weblogs, so I don't need the counter to keep track of hits. (January 26/97)

Comic Reviews - I've redone how the page looks, to make it look a little more obvious as to which issues have reviews and which don't. (December 12/96)

Comic Ratings - I've revamped the Comics Ratings to include 1997 comics, and the JLA title. You now must select a year in addition to the other info. (December 9/96)

Deep, Dark Thoughts - I'm going to try writing a monthly column/editorial, based on events in the Batman world, upcoming series, and so on. Here's my first one! (November 27/96)

Storylines - I've concatenated the Storylines with their Checklists. This means faster loading pages, and I can keep the same info grouped together. (November 25/96)

Gallery - I've added height and width tags to the Gallery, so you should be able to load the page much faster. I've also changed the titles on all the pages to graphical ones. (November 22/96)

Music Added - I've added a MIDI file of some Batman music. It's intended as "mood music." It's on a trial run right now - please let me know what you think! (November 5/96)

Main Event at the Site Fights - The Dark Knight has made it to the Main Event of the Site Fights! This is it! Please go vote for the site so that The Dark Knight will become the new champion! (November 4/96)

Gotham Gossip Directory - This lists all the people with bios, and includes links to those bios. (October 31/96)

Gotham Gossip Bios - I've added the bio section to Gotham Gossip. That means that you can reserve your handle for your exclusive use. It also allows you to share a bit with other participants. (October 30/96)

New Main Page - I've removed all the, ah, crap, from the front page, and centred on Batman. Use the Navigation Guide to get around. The old info about Batman will be moved to the Batman section under People. (October 29/96)

Frameless Gotham Gossip - For those of you that are frame-challenged, you can now participate in Gotham Gossip chats without using frames. How to do this is explained on the Gotham Gossip page. (October 15/96)

Site Fights - The Dark Knight has been selected to participate in the Site Fights. If you like this site, please go to the Site Fights and vote for the site! You can vote as many as four times per day, for seven days, so be a friend and go vote for The Dark Knight! (October 14/96)

Gallery - The Gallery will now load faster, thanks to thumbnails. I've created thumbnails for each graphic, and by clicking on the graphic, you will be shown the graphic at full size. (October 2/96)

New Gotham Gossip - I've replaced both Gotham Gossips with a new CGI-based one that I've written myself. It needs frames, though, which means you must be using Netscape 2 or higher, or Internet Explorer 3. (October 1/96)

Comic Release Guide - I've moved the data on when the comics were released this year, and what the new releases are, to a new page. This slims down the Comics page, and will allow me to more easily expand what I provide on this sort of theme. (October 1/96)

Whole Site - The whole site's look has been somewhat redesigned. The Navigation Guide in the left frame is used to navigate the site, and the right frame holds the contents of the pages. This should increase the ease of navigation, and the new logo at the top of each page replaces the old imagemap and horizontal rule. (October 1/96)

Links Page - Clicking on a link on the Links page will open a new Netscape session, leaving the Links Page up. This makes it easier to explore the sites I have links to, by not having to figure out how far back in your history to go to get back to the links. (September 18/96)

Main Page - The main page has been redesigned, to give the site a more distinctive look. The rest of the pages will be converted over time to this format. (September 18/96)
