The Batman Chronicles is a fairly new title devoted to those characters involved with Batman, but not about Batman himself. Each issue is made up of three smaller stories. This gives the supporting cast of characters a chance to develop and have their own adventures.

Some of the characters that this title has looked at include: Huntress, Anarky, Harold, Sarah Gordon, Riddler, Mr. Zsasz, Killer Croc, Superman, and Ra's Al Ghul. Occassionally, a "silent story," or a story with no words, is included.

This is an excellent title, and since it is quarterly, the cost of reading it is not very high. The creative teams are different for each story, which provides a nice variety.

A recent (July 23/97) special issue of Batman Chronicles features a "gauntlet" for Robin: Batman hides in the city, and Robin must find him before sunrise. The kink in the story is, that something goes wrong during the night...
