Hi! My name is Patrick Furlong, and I am the guy who designed and manages this site, The Dark Knight. I have had a hand, though - check out Credits For The Site.

The Dark Knight is one of my hobbies. I don't make any money off it; I don't sell advertising, charge user fees, or take bribes. I don't work for DC Comics either. I'm just a big Batman fan and I wanted to share Batman with the rest of the world. However, this site has received a few mentions and awards, which gives me that warm feeling inside.

The Dark Knight started on the St. F.X. University server in the early Spring of 1995 as my early attempt at HTML. It was about half a screen long, and had one whopping graphic. Check out what the site looked like then. By the summer of 1995, the site moved to NSTN's server until October 1995. The site then went on Cycor Communications' server. The page grew and grew in size, until there was about 30kB of text and several graphics on the page by Spring of 1996. Check out what the site looked like by the end of 1995. Then I decided that I needed to break the site up. So the sections (comics, people, links) went to their own pages, and a change was made to the look of the site, with my first forays into imagemaps. I next registered my own subdomain name, so that the site would finally have a "permanent" URL. This format remained until I yet again grew tired of it. In October 1996, the site changed to its present format, with a Navigation Guide in a frame on the left and the content in the frame on the right. I hope to sometime make available early versions of the site, just so you can see how it's changed.

The newest change is that the site has been moved to a new webserver. MT&T has provided me with space for the site on one of their servers. This happened in early March, 1997.
